How To Stay Cool In Summer - Survival Guide


As of right now, I am sat outside on a big comfy chair in my garden at 9pm watching the sun set the air is still warm and very much enjoyable. Why? Because there has been a massive heat wave all across the UK, which we do not get very often!  Can it get any better than this?! But one thing which isn't very enjoyable is getting overly hot and dehydrated.
So here are my tips for how to stay cool in summer!

1. Avoid Caffeine 
Drinks with caffeine in can cause dehydration, so it's best if you stay away from them, on those hot days!

2. Wear Light Coloured Clothing 
Wearing light coloured clothing can make you cooler because it reflects the heat, as the dark colours absorb it.

3. Eat More Light Foods
By this, I don't mean you have to cut out all meat and starchy food but eating lighter foods can make you feel less bloated. Try to have a salad packed with veggies and some deli meat!

4. Stay Hydrated!
Being hydrated is one of the most important tips to stay cool in summer. Being hydrated makes your body work and will be more likely to cool itself down quicker

5.Take a cold shower 
Taking a cold shower can cool you down instantly

6. Use Fans!
If you live in the UK like I do then there is a high chance you won't have air conditioning in your house, sooo keep windows open to let the air through and use fans in your bedroom to keep you cool while you are in there!
